Washing after using the toilet

How many of you wash after using the toilet I mean for a number two. And if so what do you do.
If I don't i get irritation and it smells. I know some of you might say wipes, but I find most are full of chemicals. Maybe water wipes might be better.
I have used a flannel and soap I was told soap is not good and to be honest even the 'mild' ones, I find them irritating it stings. Even on my body I see where my skin looks scaly.
Then all these foaming body washes, I feel like they don't clean as well, and they need more washing off.

So I need to be able to do this quickly especially in the morning when we need to get out of the house.

Sorry if this is a weird topic for some, but it's dawned on me more now with the warmer weather picking up.

You can get bidet hoses that attach to the cistern.

Unopenedpackofmenssocks · 09/05/2024 11:11

Yes you need one of those attachments that people from Islamic cultures use. Or a bidet.

You could keep a jug in the bathroom solely for this purpose, wash then wipe as normal

northernstars · 09/05/2024 11:25

I'm pretty sure you need soap to break down the fat in your stools?

MillshakePickle · 09/05/2024 11:27

Warm soapy water in a peri bottle?

buffyslayer · 09/05/2024 12:04

I use a bidet bottle (Amazon) and some dr bronners unscented soap or simple

Redruby2020 · 09/05/2024 12:29

I don't know about getting the bidet attachment on toilet. But these portable little bottles with a spray bit on etc, seem quite good. I will take a look online, thankyou.

I use a bidet every single time

margegunderson · 09/05/2024 18:56

I used to get recurrent cystitis and always use a bidet and soap - or if away/public loo paper and soap or wipes or the shower hose.

Japanese toilets are very expensive but absolute bum bliss.
If you can afford it, well worth investigating.

Body lotion on the toilet paper works like Wype but is cheaper
