period-type bleeding post c-section

I'm a bit frustrated and don't know if I should be concerned or not but I had a c-section 10 weeks ago and while my post-birth bleeding lasted 5 ish weeks and seemed completely normal (2nd baby) I have since had two very light 'period'-type/break-through-type bleeds in the last 3 weeks.

I am exclusively breastfeeding too so basically hadn't expected to have any bleeding for months yet. Just wondering if your post-birth bleeding can come and go for longer after a c-section (1st birth was vag.b, so new territory), or whether this is like break-through bleeding. Does anyone else get periods or mini-periods while still breastfeeding a lot??

Should I be concerned (and see m GP for example) or should I just give my body a bit more time to settle and put it down to normal post-birth stuff??? Any thoughts...?!

Hi my last c-section was 7 years ago but can still remember that bled for weeks after. This also happened after my first c-section nearly 10 years ago and was very surprised that it went on for so long before settling down. I was very concerned at the time but seemed to be the only one who was. Wish they would warn you of these things beforehand as you have enough to worry about with recovery and looking after new baby. I'm sure you have nothing to worry about.

Mine came and went for weeks and weeks after my second c-section - for some reason, it went away faster after my first (10 days or so, if I remember rightly - sort of compensation for an emergency section?!).

I would wait another couple of weeks, then see your GP if its still going on - but it sounds much like mine

Mine went on for weeks and weeks too, thought it was finished several times only for it to recur. Was just about to visit doc, when it finally stopped!
