Gallbladder surgery

Unexpectedly been offered a gallbladder surgery date next month, expected to wait until around the end of 2025...should I do it? I've only had 1 severe attack (went to A&E) and gallstones confirmed via ultrasound.

I would.
Diseased gallbladders don't get better.

MrsTaytodarling · 07/05/2024 15:18

Absolutely! It'll only get worse...best thing I ever did

Hi op :)

I started the above thread a few weeks ago after having my first attack. The consensus was that gallstones and issues caused by them only get worse in time, even if not straight away.

Since having my first attack last month, i have already gone on to have another one and been poorly for 5 days afterwards.

Best of luck :)

Gallstones - your experience please! | Mumsnet

I had an episode of severe pain this week, that led to an ambulance being sent, as I was on my own looking after 2 young kids. I had taken paracetamol...

I would take it with both hands, without a doubt
