Due laser eye treatment for retinal holes, anti anxiety medication?

Had some new floaters in my right eye, was concerned & got it checked out by an optician, she found I had a few holes in my retina (left eye) & some snail tract degeneration (right eye), since been referred to hospital for a second opinion & have now been referred to the BMEC for laser treatment to prevent the holes from causing further problems. I’m very nervous & squeamish when it comes to eyes, my question is will I be offered any sort of anti anxiety medication to calm my nerves before the procedure? Can I request anything? Anxiety is through the roof atm :/

You can discuss the possibility of the procedure being done under sedation or taking a pre med beforehand to help you feel calmer. Explain that you are concerned you will feel too anxious to stay still for the procedure- this is important and hopefully they can facilitate this. Have you had any appointments like a preop appointment before the procedure or is the next contact you have with them the actual date for treatment?
Totally get you feeling anxious, they take amazing care of you in there but I would feel the same with someone coming at my eyes.
