Urgent referral?

Hello,

I had an ultrasound last week and a lesion was found. I was told that they want to have a closer look but it's just a routine scan and not to worry.

However, I got an appointment through the next day for mid May. I was expecting a few months wait at least. Does this sound like an urgent referral?

It sounds ridiculous, but I'm quite worried about how quick the appointment came through! If it was urgent , would somebody have contacted me to say it was?

Could there have been a cancellation?

@ShrubRose my first appointment was Thursday morning and the next appointment was in the post by Friday morning? But maybe!

My mum has had quite a few tests for various things recently, none urgent, and they’ve all been appointments within the next four weeks. I think it just depends on your individual hospital/trust as to how long their waiting times for things are.

Fingers crossed that's all it was.

They did tell you it was a routine scan, and it's right that they're making sure they haven't missed something, just in case.

@FacingTheWall thank you. Hope your Mum is okay. X
