Post op ileus

Any ezxperiences of post oop ileus? Had surgery on thursday and tummy looks about 9 months pregnant with twins. Have been told its an ileus and they will put a tube down my nose. Not sure what this will be like.

Have they tried you on clear fluids like black tea, clear soup etc first? I had those first then moved on to things like yoghurt when it was certain that the fluids had stayed down.

No they first tried me on yogurt and tjhen mash potatoes will ask about clear fluids.

Those are really strange options for someone recovering from an ileus.

I had an ileus after my C section. It’s painful and vomiting small bowel contents is horrible! Mine resolved after 24 hours, hope you feel better soon 💐

That's what the tube is for. If you feel sick, ask the nurses to aspirate the tube more often. When your aspirate no longer looks like pond water, it's improving.

They have taken the tube out now and arrejust working out what i can tollerate.

They are talking about wa ct as have been noted sick again.
