Weird sickness bug or digestive issues

Was sick a couple times on sunday out of nowhere 4 hrs in between then no more sickness but felt full up and bloated , had headache for day but felt like dehydration type headache, ate plainly for couple days but still felt bloated so tried some gaviscon after eating and seemed to help a little straightaway , but then woke up with loose stools x 2 ( hadn’t been for couple days ). This has been from sun 1st sick until today upset belly x 2 , technically not diarreah as yet as not 3 times in a day but obviously day not over, feel fine.
does this sound like a bug or more like digestive issues, i suspect i suffer from ibS but not had these type symptoms. Stayed in 48 hrs after sickness in case a bug but don’t want to wait in another 48 hrs if not a bug and just me. Feel ok now and better than i have the last few days as the bloating has gone. If i have had D&v bug before normally all at once and not 4 days between. Any suggestions for getting rid of bad bloating as although gaviscin worked not sure if thats whats also caused loose stools as can be a side effect, but i barely had any but then again never taken it before either. Just incase bloating comes back as that was uncomfortable felt light had a tight band around my stomach.

Here's what I think based on my own experiences:

It could be a lingering bug: While it's unusual for symptoms from a stomach bug to last this long with breaks in between, it's not impossible. Maybe the virus is just taking its time running its course.

IBS is a possibility: Since you mentioned suspecting IBS, the bloating and occasional loose stools could be related. I know that sometimes my IBS flares up after I've been sick, so that might be a factor.

Here's what might help:

BRAT diet: This bland diet (Bananas, Rice, Applesauce, Toast) is gentle on the stomach and can help settle things down.
Hydration: Drinking plenty of clear fluids is crucial, especially if you've had loose stools.
Probiotics: These can help restore the balance of gut bacteria, which might be helpful if it's IBS-related.

I have just had this, all the same symptoms. Still having the odd mild cramp and feeling run down. Feels like a lingering bug.

I had similar and realised I was lactose intolerant. Became much worse around menopause. It started with bloating, stomach gurgling and diarrhoea and if I overloaded with cream containing food, I was actually sick.
I'm much better now cutting out lactose.

Eat nothing for 24 hours, starves a bug my GP said. Then very light bland diet for a few days. A 24 hour fast will help
