Is it worth seeing a GP for this?

I’ve had a temperature of between 38-38.5 every day for the last ten days. It’s usually up in the morning then again in the evening. Paracetamol does bring it down for a while but if I don’t have it regularly it goes up again.

I feel okay in myself just got a bit of head and sinus ache as well as a cough. My chest is fine, I’ve tested negative for covid I just get really cold when my temperature goes up and then the sweats once I’ve taken paracetamol.

I really don’t think I need to see anyone about it as it must just be a virus that needs to run its course, but DH thinks I should contact the doctors. I don’t see there is anything they could do.

I recently had something that sounded similar, although I felt more generally unwell and was getting shooting pains in my head. After 10 days I contacted the GP and they prescribed some antibiotics and advised to use Beconase spray. The NICE guidelines point out that most sinusitis is viral and that most bacterial sinusitis self-resolves, but does allow for antibiotic prescription after 10 days

If you are normally in good health and feel generally OK I'd be inclined to give it another few days, but contact the GP is you get any worse or things don't start getting better within two or three more days (Disclaimer: I am not a doctor!)

Scenario: Acute sinusitis | Management | Sinusitis | CKS | NICE

I ended up seeing my GP this morning as 11 days seems a long time and I’ve been a bit out of breath. Turns out I’ve got a chest infection so glad a I went.
