Hi I have a fungal infection in both ears, confirmed by a swab, first treated with an ear spray- clotrimazole, however it turned out I was allergic to that, then I was given oral tablets spelt something like fluconazole. Unfortunately within a couple of days after I ended that treatment of a week the infection came back, I then got referred to the hospital ENT department,they put some ointment that they syringed into my left ear after microsuctioning it and in the right they found that my ear drum was also perforated so they could do anything but microsuction that one. I have a follow up appointment in three weeks, however I’m the ear they put the ointment , black stuff ( I assume the fungus again) has reappeared, I am so frustrated by this and really worried there are no other treatment options, has anyone had the same thing, can anyone reassure me that there are more treatment options, I am getting so stressed about this.
