Stupid question about pain

I am not very good at knowing when to go to the doctor. I appreciate that I am an adult and should have worked this out by now. I've been having a dull pain for some months but it's really not very bad - it doesn't stop me from doing anything, I just notice it. I'm minded to make an appointment but am I being ridiculous? I'm v conscious of how little capacity there is at the moment and I don't want to take up a slot that an actually ill person might need. I think I just need someone to confirm that it's just growing pains. Should I just ignore it or go to the GP?

why would you have growing pains if you are an adult? you are not growing

Well yes, I was being flippant.

You've had the pain for several months so it's not going to go away by itself or with rest/paracetamol. It's time to make that appointment.
