Interferon treatment?

I am starting Interferon in about ten days and am utterly stressed by the thought of it. I feel overloaded with stuff to do already let alone this horrible treatment for up to a year. Anyone had any experience?
Just feeling very anxious at the moment and no time to be ill myself.
Going off now as ds is coming in will look back later. thanks.

My cousin has been on interferon for the past 5 years for relapsing remitting MS and has done far better than any of us would ever have expected. She really dreads doing the injections though.

All the best.

I am taking it with ribarivin for hepatitis. I have heard it used for other conditions.
I have been told to expect flu like symptoms for two days after each injection, loss of appetite, diaoreah (sp), hair loss(!!).
Irritabilility and depression.
Riven, I havent heard about twitching though, does it have different effects depending about what you are taking it with/for I wonder?

Thanks for replies.
I was feeling overwhelmed after a day at college and having to cope with everyday life as well.

have you tried any of the support groups?

sasquatch · 01/04/2008 21:54

Thanks bundle, I have looked into that site , I am already in a therapy group for chronic depression, not hep focused. I dont know if I will keep going once I start treatment though.
Today I had a letter about a group for my son [he has aspergers] that also means me
attending a parent group, he wants to go to that, for 10 weeks, i dont know how I am going to fit it all in as expecting to be out of action some of the time. And stuff keeps piling up!

good idea to limit what you do, reserve your energies for your health and your son, which are obviously most important to you, x
