This white lump has developed on my gum, it has a head and is oozing a bit (sorry tmi). Any idea what it is, if it’s something to worry about or who i should see? thanks.

Looks like a gumboil

FinkleFlint · 23/04/2024 18:14

Could be an abscess? I’d see dr first as it’s free triage

Looks like an abscess. Get thee to a dentist pronto as the infection can spread.

Ladyprehensile · 23/04/2024 18:18

Gumboil, abscess or blocked saliva gland?
See dentist asap if you have one or emergency dental service (via 111) at local hospital.
Best not to ignore it.

Pigeonqueen · 23/04/2024 18:19

If it’s oozing it’s probably an abscess and you should see a dentist asap.

Dentist.

Looks like an abscess - does it not hurt?!

MrsCrumPinnett · 23/04/2024 18:31

Always a dentist for anything in the mouth. And yes, it looks like an abscess. Needs treating asap as infections in any part of your head can be dangerous if left and allowed to spread.

Thanks all. Will seek medical advice tomorrow then…
