gripe water Vs colic drops

baby minster is a quite windy baby and although he can get it up (or down!) he struggles with it for a little while before hand. Am not keen on giving him anything other than milk tbh but am beginning to think he could do with a little help!

How do gripe water and colic drops (infacol/dentinox etc) work exactly? He is 4 weeks old on Thursday

colic drops have a cumulative effect in the stomach and you're supposed to remember to give them at each feed 9not sure of the exact science). you can be a bit more selective when you use gripe water ie after feeds if there is a problem, or just leave it if everything's fine. Gripe water worked brilliantly for my dd and bizarrely she loved the taste! Soon had her belching like a trooper! i was a bit too out of it with tiredness to remember to give the colic drops.

Infacol you give in a dropper and it produces orange flavoured burps. Dentinox you can put in their milk, like gripe water, and it is a bit more effective than infacol imo, having done an extensive survey with my wet and windy ds!

i used gripe water for both my too and they were good burpers lol no problem with colic at all ,they both burp well even now and they
9 and 14 years old but it not as cute anymore
hope it works for you , there is nothing worse than colic for a baby , it looks so pain ful when they squirm about , they no idea wat happening must be very scary

you put dentinox in their milk??

am breastfeeding so that could be quite a challenge lol!!

I had forgotten abouit infacol needing a build up to work. Have some gripe water now anyway so we will see if tonight is any better!

he is fine in teh day but squirms a lot at night and wanting to nip colic in the bud if thats what it is.

Hope you have a good night

gave him a quarter of the recommended dose of gripe water after his feed when i came offline y'day afternoon and it seemed to make him more gripey!! luckily it wasn't the middle of the night so was easier to cope with. Had a night of snacky type feeds but he wasn't so grizzly which was a blessing.
