Light pink bleeding after sex

For the past maybe 8-9 months, I've had pale pink bleeding after sex. We usually have sex around once a week, and it started out as maybe once every few months, and it is now every single time. Usually its fairly light, just pink blood after wiping/showering, but a few times it's been really heavy and left me with a bit of pain. There are no 'friction' problems, and no chance of it being an sti.

I'm just confused by the colour mainly, as I'd have thought if I had a polyp (not sure how to spell) it would be bright red.

I've finally plucked up the courage to go to the doctors and have an appointment this week, but I made the mistake of googling before I did so now I'm a bit worried! I had the HPV jab as a teenager- I assume this means I can't get cervical cancer?

Any ideas?

You did the right thing going to the doctor. I have had this and in my case it was cervical erosion. Easily fixed and not a sign of anything more serious.

I also had this and it was also cervical erosion for me. But it’s definitely the right move to go and get it checked out properly.
