Dry skin under eyes, help!

I've had dry, sore and red skin under both of my eyes for the last few weeks and it's gradually getting worse. Nothing helps it and it's very sensitive and obviously very close to the eye so I'm wary about what I do put on it. I've tried plain old moisture, eye creams, Vaseline, sudocrem, vitamin e cream and a few other things. Can anyone suggest anything that may help?

Is it really itchy? Have you spotted anything similar elsewhere around your eye or under your nose/round your mouth/chin? I say this because it looks like when I get a flare up of periocular dermatitis. That might be why no creams work. Don't go anywhere near it with anything steroid-y either (this encourages it). The only thing that works on mine is azelaic acid cream.

Do you use any eye makeup? I’d start by dialling back on any products around the eye area in case this is causing irritation/adding further irritation. Similarly, any new products or even cleansers might set this off

Thanks for the replies, it is a little itchy so I'll have a look into that. I had similar on my chin a few months ago that took ages to go and the only thing that cleared it was fucidin cream but I wasn't sure if that would be ok to use so close to the eye?
I've not used any kind of concealer etc on my under eyes for the past couple of weeks and only put mascara on my top lashes but if anything it's actually got worse since.
