Woke up an hour late and didn't realise - can this be normal?

This has never happened to me before and I find it highly disturbing! My first abnormal action was that I set my alarm clock one hour late last night. Then when I woke up, I didn't realise I had woken up an hour late and continued the morning routine thinking that I was nicely on time. Despite monitoring the time on my smartphone - I guess I was just focusing on the minutes! DC just finishing breakfast when I realised it was past 9am! Sudden horror! Huge apologies to school, but now very worried about how this could happen. I'm perimenopausal and on HRT, and I do have trouble (or am hyper aware of) mixing up words and also remembering names/lyrics and what I did at the weekend. I am hoping this is just the result of a stressful routine but would be grateful to know if this has happened to anyone else! Thank you!

These things happen, it's quite normal. Please don't worry about it. It's easy enough to blame it on being perimenopausal but it could have happened at any time. No harm done.

I forgot when the clocks changed recently and have done that before, years ago, more than once. I can remember standing on a station platform ready to go to work an hour early.

Thank you - this made me feel a whole lot better! Probably back in the day I would have just chalked it up to being generally absent-minded but now that I started to worry about ageing every slip seems to take on a bigger significance!
