Hip pain

I’ve woken up with a really sore hip. Struggling to go up and down stairs, and painful to walk. Wondering what it could be? No injury, and I had a lazy weekend. All was fine when I went to bed 🤷🏼‍♀️

Maybe bursitis? Inflammation of the hip 'bursa' which is a fluid-filled sac near the hip joint. Painful especially using stairs or going uphill. Is it tender to press on the outer hip joint? What is the pain like, does it radiate away from the joint? Or perhaps some kind of ligament strain?

You may need to rest it, perhaps use cold compresses every hour to help bring down inflammation.

Edited to add: am not a doctor but have had bursitis!

Thank you. I do have bursitis, but in the other hip! Maybe it’s crept over. Anyway, I took a painkiller and it has subsided for now.
