Anyone have any idea what this could be? Spoke to 111 they sent a referal to my GP to see/speak to me today. Spoke to the on call paramedic doing triage calls, she didnt seem concerned at all as there wasnt heavy bleeding or extreme pain but i described it to her and told her the size along with having period type cramps - she said lets just see how it goes if it happens again or i start to feel unwell, heavy bleeding etc to call them back or go urgent care. I lost a large blood clot about 5-6years ago but it didnt look like this.

That is tissue, not blood clot and it needs to go to the lab for histological testing. When was your last period OP?

LongLostSock · 19/04/2024 20:36

Possibly a decidual cast?

caringcarer · 19/04/2024 20:37

Looks like it could be an early miscarriage.

MassiveOvaryaction · 19/04/2024 21:01

Agree could be decidual cast.

Do you feel well in yourself @Zombiemama84 ?

Zombiemama84 · 19/04/2024 21:52

I thought I came on yesterday but now not sure if it is a period or something else going on. Its normal period type bleeding not really heavy, I don't usually get cramps but am having them today. I felt a bit iffy earlier but thought that could be the worry and the sight of seeing that falling out of me.

I started back on the pill about 6 weeks ago, missed a couple of pills this week through stress/forgetfulness then started to bleed so thought it was just my period starting.

excuse another gross pic but this is what i had before, had it checked out and they said it was just a blood clot no tissue but agree with the poster saying there is tissue in todays one and i'm not happy it was brushed off without it being seen. I feel ok at the moment, would you go to be seen tomorrow?

Just to add I did a test a few days ago and maybe a month ago to settle my anxious mind as i wasnt on contraception before going back on the pill - both were negative.

It really doesn’t.

Shiveringinthecountry · 19/04/2024 22:29

I'd try to be seen tomorrow, if I were you. I'm not a medic, but clearly that isn't normal. I don't think either that you should just have been brushed off. Did the paramedic see the photo?

I wasnt happy with the response from the paramedic tbh I described it the best I could, told her it looked like tissue not just a blood clot, told her the size, she just didnt seem to be concerned which at the time I thought she knew best but felt a bit deflated afterwards.

Gonna sound gross, but keep it in a sealed tub in the fridge and take it with you to see someone tomorrow.

It's pretty amazing actually that that came out of you!

iamnatalia83 · 19/04/2024 23:00

You did so right taking pics of it as how do you describe etc. Yes agree even keep
It incase they want to test it. X

Its nasty to look at but i keep looking at the pic to try to work out what it is but makes me feel 🤢 when i do look at it.

It looks like a decidual cast I think. Here’s an article from a medical journal on them (with a picture)…

endofthelinefinally · 20/04/2024 15:35

I think decidual cast is the most likely explanation. It doesn't look like an early miscarriage.

Zombiemama84 · 20/04/2024 17:37

Thanks everyone, they thought it was a decidual cast also and didnt seem too concerned.

Nottherealmama · 20/04/2024 17:43

It looks like a blood clot to me. I have these with most of my periods and take medication as my periods are extremely heavy. The size of the clot would be about the size of a 12 week foetus so unless you were that far along it's unlikely to be that.
