Kidney Infection ... any treatment supporting home remedies?

thought I'll pose the question to all you knowledgable MNers...

went to doc yesterday with severe stomach pains, thinking something's wrong with my 3 month old c-section scar... well the good news was ... the scar is fine... the bad news... I've got a kidney and bladder infection! Didn't have the typical signs of pain when p-ing, etc. so didn't suspect that at all, but when the doc pushed into my back I nearly fainted!

Anyhow, I'm now on antibiotics and cranberry juice by the gallon. Are there any other things I can do to aid recovery?

Thank you

Just got back from skiing and catching up with all the threads.

My surgeon called this afternoon and wanted me to come in on the 1st of feb for another op. I asked if I could go in at half term, he said yes, fine! This is NHS!

I have to have it done during holiday time as I look after so many teachers children and they can't possibly take time off, not that I would ask them to, but they have all just said they will make sure I get an extra few days to recuperate.

This time I will make sure they get the morphine pump up straightaway!

Just to update, I am going into hospital on Monday for another op. I hope that I don't get peritonitis again, or they take three attempts to get into my kidney!

Hopefully only in for a few days, just got a cold so swigging the echinacea and popping the vit C, sod's law I haven't had a cold for years.

I might have a stent put in, anyone any expereince of what it is like?

Speak soon.
