Removing a splinter

DS has a splinter in his foot - quite deep and won't let me near it. Is there anything I can put on it to draw it out, as opposed to using a sterile needle/tweezers to hoak it out? Thanks!

Put a plaset on it, It will draw it closer to the surface of the skin

No advice - sorry. But my Ds's won't let me near their splinters when they have them.

Usually, they work themselves out of the skin but this can take a while. I am always worried that the area might become infected.

hot water and magnesium sulphate

i've heard that a paste made out of baking soda and water will draw out a splinter. have never used it as tend to go for the tweezers

Great - shall try some of those solutions - thanks! Have baking soda but what's magnesium sulphate? With both those pastes, do I leave them on overnight? TIA

the baking soda i think you make it into a paste and leave it overnight under a plaster or a loose bandage. not sure about mag sulphate. we use it in the hospital i work in to draw out pus. its a paste you can buy in the chemist and you make a poultice out of it under a bandage.
