i am sorry to be the voice of doom and gloom but I was one of those wierdos where I simply didnt stop bleeding for the entire 3 months it was in.
I got fed up needless to say and had it removed asap

worked great as a contraception though I suppose [hmmm]

hi i had the copper coil fitted and bled on and off for about 2 weeks after it was fitted it did settle down but my periods were really heavy with it in i hope your bleeding stops soon and you have a better experience than i did i have heard good things about the mirena coil though so maybe if the coil is your cup of tea try that one instead

though thinking about it, i got a period a few days after having mine fitted mid cycle too.

i find periods with the c coil start out really slowly then get worse for a couple of days. if that makes sense.

would get it checked out if it continues to worry you though as it was only put in recently.

have you got any pain with the bleeding? if it was for emergency contraception is there a possibility that you might have already been pregnant? my bleeding was red blood though and all was well could you not book an appointment at the FP clinic rather than having to wait? you can do that up here in liverpool so i dont know about anywhere else

dont beat yourself up about it oops these things happen
i know myself what it is like to start believing you are preg and have the symptoms to go along with it, it doesnt necessarily mean you are preg just that you know you could be and remember the symptoms that you had with previous pregs it is a cruel trick i have noticed that alot of women have!! dont be too hard on yourself if you do turn out to be preg as it has happened against steep odds. you would obviously need to see someone about having the coil removed and keep an eye out for any signs of ectopic or ask for an early scan. how would you feel if you were preg?? by the sounds of your posts you would not exactly be over the moon

I didn't stop bleeding for six weeks after I had mine...went on to have very heavy periods and spotting nearly all the time perservered for a year during which time dh was known to frequently ask if this method of contraception worked by rendering you completely incapable of ever having sex!!!!
Have now had it removed!!! Hope everthing turns out to be ok for you.

How the hell do you get one as emergency contraception?

There is a TWO MONTH waiting list here to get one fitted
