So this may be a long one!!
always had regular periods, however as a late teen always suffered with thick dark hair on my neck and chin. Bloods showed higher hormone and that’s all that was said- doctor gave me all sorts of creams etc to stop hair growth etc but after years and years of battling I was finally given laser on the nhs as they agreed my hair met the criteria! I am due to start laser soon.

I then discovered most of the women in my family all menopaused early (all had kids conceived naturally before this) I was nervous as I wasn’t ready to have a baby and felt like I was on a ticking time bomb! Was referred to fertility clinic and was scanned etc, everything was good apart from low follicle count :( however the doctor said natural conception was still possible!
about 1.5 later we decided to start trying and within 12 weeks I was pregnant and had a beautiful baby girl!! we are ofc over the moon.
i did suffer PND but it went away in time and I feel good again apart from when my period is due and the symptoms are getting worse! My mood swings are awful, I cry at the slightest thing and then as soon as I start my period I’m back to my bubbly self. Doctor today suggested things like pms/pmdd and said anti depressants and contraceptive pills are usually the route they would take (my body does not agree with them and I just don’t want to go down that route again) So we have taken bloods to check everything over, will get results soon.
Im also nervous about PCOS as why do I have this hair growth?! I thought that was the main cause! I mentioned it to fertility clinic previously and they said no! I also do have oily skin and hair loss! The doc said today the scan would have picked up anything else such as cysts on my ovaries.
I don’t know what to do anymore?! I’m scared about when we try for another baby but I know I’m blessed to have my girl and that’s all that matters deep down.
anyone else suffer badly before period? And suffer hair growth without PCOS?!
thank you x

What scan did you have?

It's taken me 15+ years to be diagnosed with PCOS. Multiple scans when not pregnant, multiple successful pregnancies, lots of PCOS symptoms but somehow missed until now.

Keep pursuing it, there are other hormonal conditions that can cause this kind of thing.

@ChooChoosey I had ultrasound and internal scans! My bloods should be back this week but I’m not sure they would pick up pms/pmdd so I’m really not sure why I even got bloods taken 😕

Bloods are for hormone levels which is what I was told they needed with scan to diagnose but you could just have a hormone imbalance.

@ChooChoosey my bloods came back normal. Definitely going down the PMDD route. However doesn’t explain hair growth x
