I love it.Go every 6 mths for scale and polish and come out feeling like Farrah Fawcett.

every 3 months for about 15 minutes - clean with high pressured fine water jet between the teeth, scrape and polish. It can feel a bit rough but does the trick. How much you bleed depends on the state of your gums and it gets better the more often you go.

Avoid them like the plague ... lots of blood, lots of sharp, pointy dental tools but my teeth always look better afterwards...

Its the periodontist who I really dread ...

NomDePlume · 30/03/2008 18:43

There isn't one at my dental surgery. The normal dentist does the scale and polish.

Shaniece · 30/03/2008 20:34

I have never been to a Dental hygenist as there isn't one at my practice nor was there at my last practice - the Dentist does all the scale and polish stuff.

moondog · 30/03/2008 20:38

What's a peridontist?

MaryAnnSingleton · 30/03/2008 20:42

think they deal with gums
