I’ve been prescribed this for a stubborn UTI but after looking up the side effects and reviews I am scared to take it!

Has anyone taken it and NOT suffered side effects?

thank you!

Never had an issue with it.

Step away from the Internet.

Literally just finished a 7 day course this morning. Never taken it before but it was perfectly fine, not a single side effect and worked very well. I didn't even bother taking it with food the last few days as I wasn't feeling sick with it at all.

So stick with your uti then 🙄if you read every patient information leaflet you'd never take any medicines.
Fwiw it's my ds's favourite antibiotic (he's had a few). In suspension form it's the least worst tasting, apparently. He did get the runs from it on Day 2 once, but i give him probiotics now if he has to have anti-bs.

Thanks all really helpful. I only looked it up to check an ingredient and went down a rabbit hole. We are flying to Canada in a couple of days and panicked when thinking of the flight! I can always stop taking it I suppose if there are adverse effects. Good to know though, thank you.

I took it for 6 weeks under the prescription of a urologist for chronic UTI with no side effects.
Eat plenty of kefir!

I've taken it with no side effects.

I give this to patients on a nearly daily basis… never had any serious side effects….

It's great - only antibiotic that got rid of a stubborn infection my son had.

Mimilamore · 17/04/2024 19:17

My husband had to have this for pneumonia.... shifted it within days, zero side effects

@Nap 1983 What is your thoughts on Clarithromycin 500mg for sinus infection as I had to stop co amoxiclav ..... Thanks

DecayingRelic · 27/11/2024 09:28

I had this for a UTI, it was the only thing that made any difference, I did get a little bit nauseous at the end of the course but it was worth it, I stuck it out, nothing too bad really.
