Hello!!
I had a blood test just under 2 weeks ago, I'm not entirely sure what they were looking for. But it is due to the medication I am on, they have to do a blood test yearly I believe.
Anyway, I had a message a couple of days after, requesting for me to have an urgent repeat blood test and it has been booked in for tomorrow morning.
I called the surgery to confirm whereabouts the blood test is, as we have a few surgeries as part of a joint partnership. I asked the receptionist if she could tell me why I needed another test and she said that one of the results came back abnormal and the doctor needs to compare another test. I asked what came back abnormal but she just hesitated and said "Ermm I'm not sure sorry"
For clarification, I am on the following meds:
Omeprazole 40mg once daily
Sertraline 150mg once daily
Degestrol (contraceptive pill) once daily
(I have been on these medications for years)
I don't suppose anybody would know what they test for in bloods when on these medications?
