Has anyone else experienced these strange symptoms

I am 47, and perimenopausal. This was confirmed last summer with a blood test. I have had the mirena coil inserted and have been fairly ok re menopausal symptoms, no hot flushes ever. That's the background.

Now since last Wednesday 27th, I have had a temperature, ranging from 37.8, which is when the chills set in, to 40.9, usually at night. Aches and pains, loss of appetite but no other symptoms. I am managing it with otc meds.

I visited the GP yesterday, and she told me that it's probably hormonal. Can this be right? Has anybody else experienced this? I'm getting bloods on Wednesday next but I'm so fucking miserable, I am still hoping it's just a weird virus that will clear up of its own accord.

This sounds silly but have you done a covid test?

Then if it doesn't stop in a week or reoccurs again I would agree - hormones

are you tired?
i had something like this but with extreme fatigue; bad for about four days and then started improving. There was def a bug going around with similar symptoms & fatigue

@Thisisthedawningoftheageofaquarius Yes, really exhausted and just dragging myself around. If I knew when I could expect it to end, it would be tolerable. The thoughts that it might be hormonal and just keep lingering is what's bothering me most. Hope you made a full recovery

I'm having something similar without the high temperature also since last week. Feel absolutely exhausted and achey. I actually feel like I have a temperature but don't according to the thermometer. Also have an elevated resting heart rate. I'm hoping it's a virus and nothing more serious.
