Acid Watcher Diet - Any good?

I am at the end of my tether with reflux/gerd. It's affecting my breathing and I'm constantly burping, clearing my throat, bloated and wheezing. Also having quite dramatic panic attacks when the wheezing and dizziness gets serious which if I'm honest are really frightening me and causing me to limit myself a lot activity wise and opportunity wise too Blush

I'm on omeprazole twice a day, have cut out most known triggers (that 1 coffee in the morning!), have a spray for my post nasal drip and an inhaler for my wheezing but it's still an issue. Drs want to see how the latest change to dosage goes and then will review. But in the mean time I've come across the acid watchers book and am wondering if it will help me to help myself?

I'm put off by reviews saying that the diet is expensive to follow (super low income) and I am also very time poor so would be good to know if the recipes can be batch cooked/prepared ahead etc too. But over all if it works I'll prioritise it! Any feedback would be appreciated.

I follow it and it cured my problems initially (they came back after having whooping cough, and haven’t resolved again yet). I don’t do the recipes in the book. A sample day: breakfast:oats, banana, seeds and nuts for breakfast, lunch: home made chicken soup (chicken, sweet potatoe, fennel, carrot) (batch cooked and frozen), dinner: steamed fish (bought as a frozen pack), mashed potatoe, broccoli. Snacks: own recipe of rice pudding - rice, soya milk, raisins. Melon. Almonds. I actually think I spend less time cooking than usual. I also made my own recipe for a very simple chicken stew that I batch cook and eat with rice.
