Stomach pain

Waiting on a call back from the doctor but wondering if anyone can give any advice. For the last week I’ve had unbearable pain in my stomach in the middle just under my ribs. It’s mostly occurring from about 4pm into the evening and there doesn’t seem to be anything in particular that’s causing it. I thought it could be caffeine but I’ve tried to avoid it today and tonight I’m in so much pain. Spoke to 111 last night who advised buscopan and speak to gp.
I would explain the pain as spasms, bloating etc. almost like trapped wind but gaviscon and Renee etc aren’t touching the sides and I can’t imagine why I’d have it 7 days in a row.

if anyone has experienced this and found out what it was please let me know as I’m really struggling.

Gallbladder?

I’ve been thinking the same. I have a scan booked at the end of the month to see if it’s that

I’ve been thinking the same. I have a scan booked at the end of the month to see if it’s that

if its an ultrasound and weeks away ie end of the month - private ones about 100 to 160 and get the results there and then

if it gets really bad, go to A&E, they may scan

Good luck

Sounds like it could be gallstones.

Gallbladder is usually more to the right. If you think it might be that, cut out fatty foods to be on the safe side. A good private ultrasound company is ‘ultrasounds direct’, you can book online.

when I had central upper stomach pain it was gastritis, in my case possibly caused by painkillers. If it could be that, cut out acidic food and eat a bland diet for a bit. Gaviscon advanced (better than the other versions) can help a bit but I found it was just time. I’m really sorry, it is miserable.

Gallbladder - avoid fatty foods and ice cream

Thanks for all your advice. I’ve tried to eat cleaner today which has helped so fingers crossed it not gallstones and more something to do with diet.

Sounds exactly like the pain I had with gallstones.
