Anybody out there currently suffering from the shingles?

I'm on day 6 here and all I can say is ... HOLY GOD.

This is really horrendous. I had no idea it was this bad.

Yes Day 2. 3 rd episode and post vaccine. Managed to get a phone appointment tomorrow am so hoping for the anti-virals.
it really hurts - on my ribs.

You poor poor thing.

Get the anti-virals asap - the doctor told me it's very important to start taking them within 3 days of the blisters first appearing.

I’ve come out in a chicken poxy rash on my stomach (with blisters) but I’ve googled it and the images show very small spots. Mine look exactly like chicken pox. Is this shingles? Or midgebites? (God knows how the midges got down my top).

Sorry if it’s TMI but how big are your spots?

edel2 · 04/04/2024 23:16

Not at all TMI.

I'll try and post a photo. I don't know if it's helpful. They're small enough.

The rest of the spots are under my hair which I still can't properly touch because of the pain.

I would definitely get it checked out. ❤️

I haven’t currently got shingles but just wanted to offer you all sympathy, I had shingles when I was breast feeding so didn’t take antivirals and it honestly broke me. Ask you GP for emla cream and apparently there’s an anaesthetic spray too. Hope you’re all better soon.

Thanks OP. Mine are much bigger. Must be those pesky gnats.

Big sympathy to all. Sounds ghastly and wishing you all a speedy recovery.

Update edel2: got the anti-virals on Friday and do feel much better! Thanks for the advice.

Some people can have a relatively mild case whilst others get it SO bad. If you've got an awful case it can be one of the worst pains there is!
