Hemerroid bleeding and bloating / passing wind

For the past 6 months I have been having issues with internal hemerroid bleeding after bowel movements. About 1/3 of bowel movements results in blood in the loo. This can sometimes be every day for a week or so or on and off. Been to see Dr who did a poo fit test. And examined me.

Does anyone else have these issues, it is getting me down and he said NHS are unlikely to fund banding because I have a anal skin tag.

One thing I have noticed which is odd. Is after the first event of bleeding in a hemerroid attack is I'm very gassy for a few days and fart loads and feel very bloated low down with a need to fart. Does anyone else get that? The passing wind loads just seems odd. Usually I don't do this.

Sounds more like IBS symptoms, the pile might just happen to be there, but not causing those symptoms.

Yes, I did wonder about IBS. It's just odd to me it's always straight after a bad bleed, the first in a hemerroid attack. Most of the time I'm fine.

Have they checked you for an anal fissure? They bleed like mad.
If you’re using suppositories for your pile, they make me fart.

I had exactly this and thought it was the piles (though nothing like the bleeding amount you describe). Turns out it was IBD all along and the piles were actually inconsequential.

That's interesting it's certainly making me think the piles could be a result of other issues.

How did you get a diagnosis?

How did you get a diagnosis?

FOBT/FIT test resulted in a colonoscopy. I told the doctor it was just piles but knew it was worth checking anyway. I asked the doctor about the piles and he said they were nothing at all. He should know I suppose. It had been dismissed as IBS for years.
