Hello everyone. Posting here because I'm at the end of my tether and the NHS doesn't seem to want to help much.
I've had a sore throat for a month and a half and in February/March was told it was tonsillitis, and given two rounds of antibiotics. Both unsuccessful. (Sidenote: I have also had tonsillitis before, two years ago and also hard to shake.)
I went back to the doctor today and was told it isn't tonsilitis, it's a tonsil stone. But my whole throat hurts (like swallowing razors) and I'm generally tired and down. My GP didn't give much other advice and chivvied me out.
Pic attached. Any ideas? The most obvious bit is the yellow pus zit-like thing on the right. But I'm not sure this is a tonsil stone. It doesn't feel dislodgeable or 'removed' in any way. It feels more like pus to me and as I say, the pain isn't focused there. But I see that my throat isn't all swollen and red, so maybe it isn't tonsilitis either.
I would so appreciate any help because it's really bringing me down and I don't know where to turn next.
