Last Thursday I woke up with a severe headache and a temp of 39. I had a temp and a mild sore throat for the next few days, slept a lot and was generally tired/ achey etc.
On Monday I woke up feeling a lot better, but with a very painful throat and I noticed my tonsil on one side had yellow patches on them and was swollen and red. Since then, I’ve had this small white… hole? on my tonsils that is getting bigger each day, and seems to be the source of most of my pain. The sore throat is tolerable but this ‘patch’ is making it incredibly difficult to eat, talk and is just making me pretty miserable.
I went to the GP on Tuesday and was given antibiotics but I’ve noticed no improvement since (now Thursday evening).
I’ve also had some periods of numbness in my face on the affected side, which I’m not sure if I should be more concerned about? I assumed it was just swelling pressing on a nerve.
Anyway, I’m going to try and get back to the GP tomorrow as I’m pretty miserable, but I don’t have high hopes with it being the bank holiday weekend.
Does anyone know what this is, and when I might expect it to heal/ stop growing?!
