Docs or not?

I'm sure it's this viral thing going around, but dd2 (21 months) has had a temp since Easter sunday. It fluctuates between about 37.8 and 39, depending how recently she's had calpol. She has a cold, chesty cough and is fiddling with her neck & mouth. Not really eating, but is drinking fine.

Had decided last night that I'd take her to docs this morning, however this morning her temp is 37.8 - yesterday when she woke it was 38.9. With the weekend approaching I was wondering whether to get her checked over. She perked up Wednesday morning, but then went downhill again.

Haven't been to the docs with any of my 4 in over 2 years!

I would if I were you even if it is just viral. A chesty cough might be a chest infection x

with my children if viral they only had a temp for 24 hrs, whenever they have had a temp for longer it has always been due to an infection. I dont know if this is always the case but has been in my exp. I would def take her to the docs a temp for more than a couple of days is certainly not usual

I'd say Doctors so the can check ears and chest etc. They might want a wee sample sent too (now thats an fun past time

Good luck hope she gets better soon

Thanks for the replies. I haven't gone as she is up & about today. She has a horrible cough, but is eating. her temp seems much more normal today.

However I am starting to feel achey and have a sandpaper throat ... great!
