Recurrent tonsillitis

My Dd suffers from regular bouts of tonsillitis and has for the last 4 years. Unfortunately through covid, we managed it at home so there isn't contemporaneous record of it at the Gp, although we did go to the GP at the end of 2021 because she'd had 6 or 7 bouts by then. Anyway, they refused to refer then and so here we are, still monitoring. Now on 4th bout in the past year. It seems insane that we have to wait for a few more bouts before they will refer her, she's clearly been having issues for years. Has anyone else managed to get a referral on the 3x3 criteria? I wish they'd just remove them and be done with it, it's had a massive impact on her school life.

My daughter had it 6 times in a year and got them out xx

How old was she @Louu247 ? Has it resolved the issue now?
every time I speak to the GP about it they say she's not had them frequently enough but it wipes her out for 2 weeks at a time and at one point she had it basically every couple of months.

She was 4 or 5 I think I think when she got them out and yes she’s never had it since! I pestered and pestered the doctors though x

I will try again, she's almost an adult now and has had this for the last 4 years at least.
