What type of trainers to wear for road walking??

I go for a brisk walk most days and have been wearing a pair of skechers. I don't think they are suited for actual exercise so I would need to get a decent pair of trainers. What brand would be the best, on a budget of less than £70.

i like Ascics and Nike.

they make plenty of good shoes in that budget.

I recommend Merrills - more walking boot style than trainers, but really comfortable, light and support your feet perfectly.

Would they be an average fit? I might order something online.

I've got Asics. Had them fitted in a running shop (but told them it was for power walking not running). They were so brill I managed 3 marathons (moonwalks) and all the training in them without ever getting a single blister.
