Feeling so uncomfortable down there

I'm not sure what's wrong. I have a dull period-type pain in my lower abdomen and am finding it hard to pee. I feel like I have to strain and my urethra feels inflamed. I don't have any of the other symptoms on the NHS list for UTIs though so I'm not sure it's that?

I think I've had a mild prolapse since DD was born, I wonder if it's been getting worse and something is now in the way?

I have also had piles appear in the last few days (never had them before!) so wonder if I've somehow strained and caused these issues?

I'm seriously overthinking whether I need to pee now and feeling so uncomfortable. help!

To add the struggling to pee issue has happened very suddenly in the last hour or so I've been perfectly fine all day! Do UTIs come on so suddenly?

I honestly don't know the answer but I'd be contacting a doctor. It sounds like something is definitely going on that needs medical attention.

How old are you? Menopause played havoc with my bladder and I constantly felt like I had a UTI even when I didn't. Vaginal oestrogen cream has been amazing.

JennyfromtheBlok · 21/03/2024 23:02

I had a bladder infection that started like an ache then eventually (over a day and night maybe) was horrendous. I felt like I had to constantly sit on the loo and wee but nothing came out. It was awful. Eventually I got small blood clots but by this point I was in the waiting room at out of hours drs.

Definitely go to the drs.

jennylamb1 · 21/03/2024 23:03

What did the small blood clots turn out to be.

jennylamb1 · 21/03/2024 23:14

Apologies, can see you said bladder infection, likely to be the same OP?

Being unable to pass urine can turn into a medical emergency. You need to see a doctor.

WaterIssues · 21/03/2024 23:23

I am passing urine, it just takes a lot of concentration to get it going and then it's fine.

I've been googling all night and have convinced myself I have ovarian cancer. Feeling full more easily, nausea in the morning, tiredness, bloated tummy.

All subtle things I've been explaining in other ways but now I'm so worried!

Have you started any new meds recently? My antidepressant some times has this effect a bit. Extra water seems to help, it seems to get the message to my brain to let the muscles do the right thing. But, if you find you can't pass urine at all, then do ring 111. You may need to be cathetarised to empty your bladder whilst they work out what's wrong.
