I’ve had it for a few week now and I’m really panicking

I had this and posted here in a panic and was told not to be an idiot Confused and it was clearly a Bartholin's cyst. And it was. Totally normal and benign. I had the option of leaving it or surgery. I waited two years for surgery and it didn't bother me at all while I waited. Try not to worry. Go to the docs

slashlover · 21/03/2024 18:22

Could it be a Bartholin's cyst?

Nursemumma92 · 21/03/2024 18:23

As PP said, try not to panic. Understandably worrying but there are many benign causes for this too. The best thing is to see your GP and they can check it and make a plan if need be. All the best.

Uricon2 · 21/03/2024 18:24

Lots of harmless causes, get it checked out Flowers

Rachelme12 · 21/03/2024 18:24

I’m going to the doctor tomorrow can’t help but worry, it’s sort of like a blister pea sized like is that what a cyst looks like I’ve never had one?

OP posts:
ohfook · 21/03/2024 18:30

I had one and when I went to see about it, she popped it. I was so embarrassed but clearly what I thought was a terrible cancer was actually an ingrown hair or something similar.

Rachelme12 · 21/03/2024 18:47

Hoping it’s nothing serious I’m only 27 can’t help think it’s cancer

OP posts:
HollyBollyBooBoo · 21/03/2024 18:53

I had one, Dr squeezed it and it was full of white gunk! Just effectively a blocked pore.

NeedtostopusingMNsomuch · 21/03/2024 18:55

Have you tried gently squeezing it?! Might just be a spot / blocked pore / ingrown hair

Rachelme12 · 21/03/2024 18:59

does It look like a cyst??

OP posts:
Jellybaba · 21/03/2024 19:06

It could be a genital wart

AnnaMagnani · 21/03/2024 19:07

The vast majority of women with vulval cancer are over 65 (actually well over 65) so I'd take a deep breath and wait for your GP.

Do you regularly have a check round your vulva? Because it's perfectly possible it's always been there and is normal for you speaking as someone who as also freaked herself out like this

It's most likely to be a cyst that is just happily sitting there or an ingrown hair.

Rachelme12 · 21/03/2024 19:11

i Haven’t been sexually active in over a year

WellThisIsFun1 · 21/03/2024 19:15

Does it hurt? I had an abscess that hurt like hell, looked a bit like that but redder

Rachelme12 · 21/03/2024 19:23

It’s on my premium the area around it feels a bit tender

cantstandthatad · 21/03/2024 19:29

I've got one at the moment. Bartholin's. I usually get one if I'm a bit run down or stressed. Bit sore to the touch, bit like a blister. Mine always disappear/pop after about 7-10 days.

If it's your first time, good idea to get it checked but honestly, try not to lose any sleep over it.

Rachelme12 · 21/03/2024 19:35

I’ve had it about a month now seeing the doctor about it tomorrow

OP posts:
ditalini · 21/03/2024 19:37

I get them occasionally. Mine are basically spots I guess - sometimes they can be popped, but mostly just go away on their own.

asquideatingdough · 21/03/2024 19:53

I sometimes get them if I have been doing a lot of cycling, I guess from the pressure on the saddle. Stress also can lead to a flare up. Usually a hot bath or flannel helps to bring them out if they are sore. I went to see a doctor about it when I first had one and was convinced it was cancer . He said vulvar cancer in young women is incredibly rare but cysts like this are very common!

DreamingOfaLife · 21/03/2024 19:59

Hello just to wish you luck at the doctors tomorrow and to say that I like many previous posters have had this and it turned out to be a Batholin's Cyst. The doctor offered to drain it but as it wasn't causing me pain or discomfort I chose to leave it and it burst of its own accord a few weeks later.

merryandbrightdelight · 21/03/2024 20:31

I had something similar - 2 in fact - and they were both caused by ingrown hairs. I was given a course of antibiotics and told if they didn't go to go back and they would check for diabetes. They cleared up with the antibiotics.

Hope you get sorted op, I know it's hard but please don't google

FourLastSongs · 21/03/2024 20:40

If you pop over to the Sporners Corner threads you’ll find loads of chats about weird bumps and lumps on people’s fannies. It is pretty common. And they are all pretty much nothing to worry about.

You may not believe it, but your kind of lump is greeted with glee over there. If you are really worrying it may make you feel a lot better.
