Walking Pneumonia or post viral

Oh my...we have had whooping cough in November...then two cold/flu things in top since resulting in only a few days of feeling 100% since then (my daughter and I) so last night I was feeling awful, shaky inside really panicky and took myself off to a and e. 8 hours later I saw a doctor...it was sooooo busy....who said my bloods were all normal, listened to my chest and said it was clear and it must be anxiety and post viral. I am wondering....would mycroplasma show up as an infection? My blood showed no infection. Only a few kids locally here have tested positive for this and been in hospital. Anyone know? Still feel wiped out.

Your bloods would show raised inflammatory makers if infection if it was bacterial or viral so it's unlikely you have any kind of Mycoplasma infection as if your bloods were clear.

Myself and two DD's have had a similar winter and have barely had a week between where we have all been well. You have my sympathies!

Thanks so much nursemumma that makes sense. Unbelievable isn't it! I don't think I ever even had a cough pre COVID...now I have had about 6 since November! Hope you are stronger now...

Just wanted to show support I’ve commented on other posts and I’ve had a cough since the beginning of January. GP is not that interested so I guess a long lingering virus must be doing the rounds.

shewolfmum · 20/03/2024 12:40

Citrus are you whacked out? I don't have much of a cough but have 10% energy at the mo? I don't do well not doing things it seems.....

Tiredness has been on and off since the whole thing started. Was feeling ok in myself then got another cold on top and this week have been not really with it. Back to the docs Friday so we will see what else they have to say, probably not a lot.

Obviouslynotallthere · 20/03/2024 20:07

I'm never ill, just never but I have had a cough since October, 2 chest infections with antibiotics and steroids, X-rays, inhalers etc. Now my cough has returned a week after it seemed to improve. And my sinuses are really blocked and painful. What the fuck is going on. It's making me miserable.

shewolfmum · 20/03/2024 22:11

Oh my...we are exactly the same. For us the whooping cough and 2, possibly 3 viruses on top..get better for a couple of days and bam down with someone else. I hear you and completely sympathise. Good luck citrus have you had fevers with yours? We all felt fine with the whoops cough, it was awful but we didn't feel unwell...the other things since had each come with a temp at the beginning. Jeeeez obviouslynot that is allot and not uncommon at the moment...like you say...what can it be? COVID legacy? I was I'll in 2020 ... really unwell so wonder if there is a weakness from that. I wonder if you could try allicin max...I took it to avoid antibiotics? If your cough keeps coming back it helps it to not become an infection?

DP had pneumonia 3 weeks ago, when he had his bloods his white blood count was low. His heart rate was high and high temp. Possible you’ve just got a post viral infection. Me and dd have had a cough for over 3 months now, even though it’s dwindling it’s still hanging around rent free.

citrusfruit1 · 21/03/2024 06:01

No fever for me, chest has been clear each time I’ve been to the doctors so no antibiotics given. It seems to shift about eg few a few weeks my ears were really blocked but fine now, cough is getting better in the morning but is worse at night. So things change but nothing really seems to get any better. Fully agree with the making me miserable, it’s really affecting my quality of life.

Obviouslynotallthere · 21/03/2024 09:06

Shewolfmum I'll try anything so will give Allicin a shot. I'm hoping the better weather will help too.

Cloud44 · 22/03/2024 17:40

Sorry to hear others are struggling, I’m surprised it’s not in the press or something about how viruses seem to be hitting people worse recently. What is Allicin?

citrusfruit1 · 22/03/2024 22:31

I’ve been given antibiotics now after nearly 3 months, praying they do something.

shewolfmum · 23/03/2024 17:12

Hi citrus did they hear something on your chest? Well I hope they help you. I am feeling a bit better today. I don't have a cough (unbelievable) just a wee bit of phlegm which I can handle. My shakes have stopped and I don't feel like I might fall down again when I stand! Improvement ! @Cloud44 allicin acts like a natural antibiotic...maybe less side effects but will still affect the gut microbiome.

No nothing but just gave them anyway in case 🤷‍♀️
