Left side pain under rib

Hi,

I have already been to my GP who is arranging blood tests to start with but for the last 2/3 weeks I’ve been experiencing what I can only describe as a stitch/pinching pain under my left rib at the top of my abdomen. I’m pretty sure the pain is coming from the abdomen as opposed to the rib itself. The pain is not constant but comes and goes and is more uncomfortable than really painful. I’ve also had some slight discomfort slightly further down the left side of my abdomen radiating down from my rib area. I have had some increased wind the past few days but that’s it. The pain can be there when I’m in bed, sitting down and moving about so no real pattern to it.

I was wondering if anyone else has experienced anything similar and are willing to share whether they ever got a diagnosis for what it was. I appreciate this won’t lead to any answer regarding my symptoms but the earliest blood test I can get is 3 weeks away and I’m quite worried about this recurring pain/discomfort.

For some background I do suffer from some IBS but this feels very different to what I usually experience.

hi @Raexxxx I hope you are well. Did you manage to get this checked? I am experiencing this now but mine is quite painful and constant but fluctuates. I also have ibs but this pain in my upper ribs i dont usually get but i do usually get left sided pain and constipation. I recalled yesterday when it started i did have a lot of wind but the pain remained. However today i was ok until this evening
