Haven't had a period for almost 4 years as have been on injection. Just decided to come off it and am preparing for the dreaded onslaught. Still have some ST and tampons (not in original packets) from years ago, is it safe to use them now or do they go out of date?

Don't think they can go out of date - as long as they have not been sitting where they can get all dusty and manky/damp etc, I dont see how they could go off. The tampons especially I would ensure were not sitting out in the open without being wrapped in some way
