@Mywold it might help if you say what you went to doctor about? Understand if you don't want to say but it will defo help.🤗🤗🤗

Mywold · 17/03/2024 22:16

What is it you are looking for? Can you request someone clinical to talk you through it. It seems to detail the anasthesia, assessment, procedure, findings of the operation and post op.

EllaPaella · 17/03/2024 22:23

That really is the most illegible handwriting I think I have ever seen!

Justwingingit2005 · 17/03/2024 22:25

I can pick out acute appendicitis. Appendectomy.
Then second page seems to have post op return to ward.

EllaPaella · 17/03/2024 22:25

Procedure: patient lying in supine position

EllaPaella · 17/03/2024 22:27

Antibiotics for 5-7 days
Analgesia as required (2nd page)

Something about the omentum being stuck to something on 'findings' (I think but hand writing is terrible)

EllaPaella · 17/03/2024 22:29

Drain out when output less than 30ml then home

EllaPaella · 17/03/2024 22:30

They talk about the sutures they closed the skin with.

Sorry, trying to work it out bit by bit!

Teasie123 · 17/03/2024 22:46

@Mywold , I put the pictures into Google to translate. That's what it came up with. Sorry, not much.🤗🤗🤗

@Mywold it's ridiculous really. Is this what they gave you for an update on your son? Or was it just a letter to leave in to Ur own doctors practice?

Thank you on page one under findings I made out - 15ml abscess from around appendix? Am not even sure that’s what it says 🤔

OP posts:
Soberfutures · 17/03/2024 22:54

3-0 monocryl suture.

EllaPaella · 17/03/2024 22:54

Yes it does look like 15ml abcess around appendix. The omentum stuck to something- think it's common for this to happen with inflamed appendix. Absolutely shocking handwriting, electronic notes would be very helpful! Hope your son is okay and recovering well.

This is what they give the nurse to update me with but even the nurse can’t read it. When I went to recovery to collect my son the lady looking after him handed the nurse that and said - good luck. She didn’t even no what it said and she was looking after him.

Hopefully you'll get a copy of the discharge letter for the GP with more legible information on when he gets discharged.

Teasie123 · 17/03/2024 23:01

@Mywold my my, that's so frustrating!! If they weren't good at writing, it could have been typed. Would've been easier for all. If I was you I would call the hospital when you can, and ask the doctor to give you a call back, so you can ask him outright.xx

LIZS · 17/03/2024 23:01

There will be digital records as well , and the discharge summary should explain the key facts and any after care.

Bakedbeansandtoast · 17/03/2024 23:12

Indication: Acute appendicitis (complicated)
Surgery: laparoscopic appendectomy
Anaesthetic: GA 20ml 80.5% LH (left hand I think)
Position: Supine

Findings: omentum stuck to appendix and right ...and... appendix tidy and
15ml abscess around the appendix
Appendix adhered to itself and the ...wall

Then I gave up that page!

Post op

Patient to ward
Continue antibiotics for 5-7 days
Analgesia if required
Wound drain until output less than 30mls
Home when ?fine

Bakedbeansandtoast · 17/03/2024 23:13

After findings it's just how they did the actual procedure until you get to post op.
