A friend of Dh's was telling him about his own son who is 4 and how he had to go to hospital for an operation on his willie. It was to do with the foreskin, I think, because it wasnt pulling back properly and it needed operating on.

DH became concerned about DS1 who is 2.8yrs and so today we asked the paediatrician about it. She said that for the next 20 days we have to put him in the bath and gently pull the skin back (eeeeeeek!!) and put olive oil on it. We have to try and do this twice a day.

DH and I have already had a row about it as DH says that hurts him to think about it! (MEN!!)

Is this right? I have NEVER heard of this before but the Doctor said that his willie was quite closed up and that more parents should be aware of this and pull the skin back when they are younger.

I have 3 brothers and I am sure I would have known about it!! Feel a bit silly really. At least none of you know me!! Advice please!!

emmatmg · 29/12/2004 21:28

Reg hollis........OMG.......I can assure you that my Reggy is in a very different league.

mish, he will be home very soon and as he normally asks what's going on MN(he's a closet addict I'm sure) I'm sure he'll find out. Plus i keep laughing out loud!

Gobbledigook · 29/12/2004 21:30

I got dh to read the 'clitoral piercings' thread earlier - he was in stitches!

OLittleYurtofBethlehem · 29/12/2004 21:33

LOL about Reginald - not going to tell you what dh calls his!!!!!!

emmatmg · 29/12/2004 21:36

Did you show him any of the link GDK?

My Dh was almost in tears just at the discriptions of the willy rings (Reg rings) I think he would have passed out if he saw them.

I don't think I'm a prude but I find the whole idea just bizarre. I mean......WHY?

(Sorry to hi-jack BTW)

emmatmg · 29/12/2004 21:36

Oh yes you will Yurt........I've introduced you all to Reg so spill the beans!

Gobbledigook · 29/12/2004 21:37

It's GROSS! Yes he looked at the links! The female genitalia ones were so gross!!! Womens and mens bits are not very pretty are they!?

emmatmg · 29/12/2004 21:41

Reginald is a stunner!

Gobbledigook · 29/12/2004 21:42

DH's is a nice 'clean' and 'neat' one but I wouldn't say any willy was particularly attractive!

emmatmg · 29/12/2004 21:47

what are we like?

can you imagine if we ever met......and the DH's were there! PMSL

BTW Reginald is a very long way from a stunner actually but couldn't resist posting that as a reply. Don't think I've ever seen a pretty one.

Gobbledigook · 29/12/2004 21:49

It would be too spooky for words what with our 2 sets of 3 boys and uncanny knack of agreeing with each other and being very 'twin-like'!!

Off now for a big glass of wine!

Speak to you soon!

x

Zebra, unsure if your post is directed at me or not but I have checked the thread and I am the only one who has made a reference to a HV. Can I just clarify that my HVs advice was to leave it alone and I took my HVs advice without question, it was over two years later that DH and I decided that DS1 should start cleaning under the skin as we noticed that he could fully retract it himself.

My HV is actually OK, she has only given me a couple of duff pieces of advice and on the whole is very nice and supportive. I respect her professional qualification.

I just logged on and saw that my thread had 66 posts and thought there must be loadsa advice but then Reginald took over!!!!!

DS calls his a peeko. A friend of mine is Portugese and she didnt want her child using the word willie as she knew that people would know what he was talking about if he shouted out about his willie. So, she told him it was a peekopo which is woodpecker in Portugese!! DH and I laughed about it but it caught on and now we call it a peeko!!!!!

I feel a bit stupid now and we will have to tell him when he goes to school what he should really call it!
