Sorry for the vague post header. I would name the issue if I knew what it was but will try to explain and I’m hoping someone might have heard of/had something similar.
When I met my husband he had developed Peyronie’s disease, this was 12 years ago. Doctors looked into it and essentially told him it would get better over time or he could have surgery, and he chose the first option. It did get better, but was a long process.
Over the course of the next decade he seems to have had an array of similar things happen elsewhere on his body where benign scar tissue or plaques have developed causing restriction in movement and pain.
Plantar Fasciitis occurred a few years later and he was told it was Ledderhose disease after a number of years. Then the last few years he’s had similar issues with his jaw, hand, neck, and now knee which is really impacting his mood.
These aren’t sports injuries btw, he has done nothing in the way of sports since the PF kicked in. Before that he’d run and was active, now he’s struggling to walk far with the knee problem.
Every time he’s been to the doctor they say he should see a physio, he sees a physio one time and then that’s it. No follow up, and no discussion of whether these things could be related. He saw a private specialist for his neck and had a scan and they said it’s fine because it’s not malignant, but he’s still in pain.
We have a baby on the way, he’s ‘only’ 42 and I’m really worried as it seems to be picking up pace, more of these scar tissue (without injury) areas seem to be popping up and I have no idea what sort of specialist he would need to speak to to (orthopaedic? Immune?) discuss them as a whole, ideally looking at a cause and prevention rather than him being in pain all the time because one of these things popped up again.
Any insight into what it could be or what sort of doctor he could see would be appreciated.
