Mouth ulcer virus

My husband, myself and my daughter have all over the last 2 weeks, one at a time developed lots of mouth ulcers on our tongues and roofs of our mouths. Tongues feel almost like when you burn them + having the ulcers and the roof of my mouth feels burnt too. Hubby was complaining of this last week and today my daughter has been fussy and crying when putting warm food in her mouth and keeps pulling/ touching her tongue so I think she's suffering too...no other symptoms. We all had the full shabang of hand, foot and mouth in October and suffered terribly so don't think it's that again...some weird virus I guess? Anyone else experienced this?

I had similar when my DS was little. It was mainly little white spots all over the tongue rather than larger ulcers though. It was an odd one, the first hit was violent and very sore, but it also came back every few months for a year or two much more mildly. Completely went after about 18 months.

That sounds nasty. It's not horrendous, and I can eat (nothing too hot) but it is painful and unpleasant.

Yes. Lots of ulcers 10+ all over the back of my throat, not specifically the tonsils just the whole throat. And a big one on the tongue too. I had a couple of days of fever/generally being unwell first then just as I was feeling slightly better the ulcers appeared. I am prone to the odd ulcer but never had them all over my throat like this. The pain has been quite severe and over the counter meds aren’t cutting it. The throat ulcers are starting to reduce today but I now seem to have started with a really irritating cough. I’m guessing it’s all viral - I read something that said Covid can cause ulcers but not come across anyone else who’s had them. I hope you’re feeling better soon!

Sure it's not hand foot and mouth?

I've had a few random ulcer type things appear on the back of my throat today, I'm also feeling a bit tired and have mild throat discomfort but nothing major. Maybe there is a virus going around?

Currently got 4 savage mouth ulcers, one on the back of my throat/roof of mouth. I thought it was getting better so I had my Sunday lunch and my eyes watered when I swallowed a roast potato. I'm drooling loads at night and have had a horrific headache/fatigue since last week. I'm prone to mouth ulcers but not felt this bad with them for a long time. I'm using mouthwash and painkillers and praying they clear up soon.

Both Hand, Foot & Mouth and Measles present with ulcerous spots in the mouth and throat

Oral thrush?

DodgeDoggie · 17/03/2024 22:32

I got ulcers but stopped once gluten free

I had horrible mouth ulcers every time I had Covid (3 times). Probably an indication immune system has taken a bashing from fighting a viral infection.
