If a medicine bottle says 1-2 x 5ml spoons for children aged 1-6 yrs....How much do you give your very tired, very snotty, not happy at all 15month old?

I've given him some now but just wondered how much of the 1-2 spoons you'd give....

my dd is 5yrs and i only ever give her one. Call me an overcautious mum!!
