Worried about / fed up with breast symptoms - any advice welcomed!

Hi, just wanted to see if anyone had any advice.

For the past 3 months or so I have had pain in my right breast, ranging from coming and going to fairly constant - the same breast is also quite red and blotchy (seems to have got worse recently) and swollen / itchy.

I attended a breast clinic in December, had an examination by 2 different consultants, mammogram and ultrasound and all fine - but the pain, blotchiness etc seems to be getting worse.

Any ideas? I've tried ibuprofen gel and starflower oil with no effect. Despite the clear scans I'm finding it hard not to worry because it does seem to be worsening x

Get back to the doctor! It’s great that the mammogram was clear, but if there’s an itchy, inflamed rash then it might just need something as simple as antihistamines or an eczema type cream to knock it on the head.

Ibuprofen gel is a good idea on that side, but I’d try something like a hydrocortisone cream, so talk to your pharmacist if you can’t get in to a doctor.

Have you bought/worn any new bras recently? Or washed them in anything different?

Hi :)

Nope nothing different re bras or washing. It's so frustrating as its uncomfortable but also can't help worrying even though I've had a clear mammogram and ultrasound (I'm 39 btw) - but yes I think your advice is right and I'll go back to the doctor!

Good luck!

Hopefully they find something straight forward that works for you
