Sickness bug-any suggestions

My DS who is 6 as had a sickness bug since early Tuesday morning.
He can't keep anything down ,not even water.

He does'nt have diarohrea (sp) and is hot but not feverish.

Rang doctor and he just said he can't get dehydrated through being sick alone and there is nothing they can give him.

poor little fella has just eaten dry crackers yesterday which came up again and nothing today except sips of water.

He is sleeping a lot and just lying on the sofa.

Anyone can recommend anything he could eat ,we are haing pasta tonight and wondered whether just some dry pasta would be ok?

Nope - keep to sips of water, every 15 mins to avoid dehydration. When he starts to feel better/cooler, then introduce a little food but if he bring that up again, leave off for another 24 hours and go back to water.

Oh - I put the cooker timer on when my lo's had this - it helped to remind me to give sips of water!

Water is not really enough. I usually give 7-up or Sprite - add a sprinkling of sugar to get the fizz out.

Sympathies - DS has just been through this - sickness one week - the runs the next week.

Hi,thanks for the replies.
He is just lying there and is asleep again.

Feel realy guilty making dinner and eating whilst he can't have anything.

Luckly his sister who is 4 has escaped this at the moment.

He keeps asking for a drink all the time and asked if he could have some pasta tonight ,will have to say no

Meant to say the last 2 nights he has been in my bed so I can keep an eye on him and he is taking water up with him but wakes up and sicks that up too.
Luckly I wake as soon as I hear him.
