HELP - really worried DD on 7th day of diarrhoea and getting worse

Does anyone have any advice. I have phoned NHS direct etc but really worried as DD is getting worse today - with over 10 very watery and mucusy poos so far today.
The diarroea started off being 5-7 loose poos per day, no vomiting, but yesterday it got worse and today it is really rotten. DD is 8.5 months, is also not eating now or drinking milk - I have been able to get her to take water but no diaraylte which my Dr prescribed yesterday when I took her in. He suspected it was a virus and would be over within 7 days but today is the 7th and it is so much worse. DD is not herself, listless and sleepy although has has 10 minute moments where she has tried to stand and walk but then gets tired and wants to go back to sleep. Her mouth still appears moist but I am worried that all she has had today is 3 oz milk first thing and about 4oz water.

Has anyone elses LO had anything similar I am really worried and feel helpless?

I had this with my DS2. I gave him over ripe bananas and this did the trick. HTH

When did you see gp? I think I'd go back to check she wasn't dehydrated, especially if she's listless. 7 days is a long time.

I ride out most illnesses, but with a baby and severe diarrohea I'd go back.

thanks so much for responses. I have been feeding banana previously but she won't take anything today at all except water. will try carrot as well.

i was at the dr yesterday but agree as its much worse i am going to go back tomorrow instead of Friday which is what he suggested if there was still diarroea.

yesterday i was so worried as had her weighed and she had lost weight but at least she was eating. today i am just so worried because it continues and she is just not herself - the weight loss is secondary.

many thanks for support they are so little and delicate wee things....

Whenever we had this, milk very clearly and very quickly exacerbated it, so my advice would be to steer clear of anything dairy til you know things are back to normal.
But tbh, after this long, I'd be concerned, and I've been kown to go to A&E or at least the walk-in centre.
Poor little thing...

Sorry, that should be "known" not "kown"!

How is your dd today? Hopefully she's on the mend.

Has she had anything containing wheat or gluten? She might be unable to process gluten. I hope she is better today?

hi there she is on the mend today - i hope. only 1 dirty nappy since last night and has eaten a yoghurt and 3oz milk today. she is sleeping lots though - i think it must have really taken it out of her.

thank you for all your support - its been such a miserable time for us all.
