Colonoscopy appointment

I'm due to have a colonoscopy soon. Both DH and I are immunocompromised and so far we've managed to avoid getting Covid and all the other winter bugs going around. Does anyone know whether you're allowed to wear a mask during the procedure?

Depends if you're having gas & air I guess. Have you had your pre-op assessment yet? Ask the nurse then, or call the department for advice.

You can certainly wear one in the waiting room and before and after the procedure. During the procedure you might be using g gas and air and it is also possible that the surgeon will want to be able to assess you level of comfort by looking at your face so you will have to discuss at the time.Your surgeon and nursing staff may well be wearing masks; locally quite a lot of medical Al staff are doing so.

Thanks, makes perfect sense about needing to look at my face!
