What is this strange, burn-like mark on my arm? Pic

Hello MN. I woke up with this strange mark on my arm. It's not sore or itchy. It looks like a burn and I was taking heavy, oil-filled trays out of the oven last night. But could I really have sustained such a significant burn without noticing? Grateful for any steers.

Looks like an oven tray burn to me!

But could I really burn myself like that without noticing ? Has anyone ever done that ?

I have sometimes, if you don't notice and there don't soak in cold water immediately...?

It does look like a burn but looks older than a day old to me.
Could it be a friction burn?

Burns always progress and are worse a day or so later than when they occur. It might be a burn that you didn't notice if you were concentrating on getting trays in/out of the oven, hot steam was already come out etc.
Is that your upper arm? I assume you couldn't have pinched the area? Could a bra strap have slipped over the pulled/pinched your arm skin?

Yes, it looks very like a hot tray out of the oven burn. I have so many scars on my hands and arms from this type of thing and they all looked like that.

I have yet to buy a pair of oven gloves, so by using a tea towel, sometimes the edge of the tray, or the rack makes contact. I'm an idiot!

I have burnt my skin several times while cooking. If it's very hot you don't necessarily feel the pain when you caught the hot surface.

Tend to notice them in the heat of shower etc.
